Accessibility Audits
Mobile accessibility that protects users, satisfies regulators, and prevents store rejections
What this service delivers
App Store rejections, ADA litigation, and WCAG violations are preventable. Our accessibility practice combines automated scanning with manual VoiceOver and TalkBack testing, color contrast analysis, touch target sizing, and focus order verification, producing actionable severity-ranked reports your team can act on in a sprint.
- VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android) manual testing on real devices
- WCAG 2.2 AA conformance assessment for mobile apps and web
- Color contrast analysis including dynamic text and dark mode
- Touch target sizing: minimum 44×44pt iOS, 48×48dp Android
- Keyboard and switch access navigation validation
Our approach
How we deliver accessibility audits
A structured, evidence-based methodology that produces findings your team can act on, not reports that sit in a folder.
Automated scanning and baseline
We begin with automated accessibility scanning using axe DevTools Mobile, Accessibility Scanner (Android), and Apple's Accessibility Inspector to rapidly surface the full landscape of issues. Automated tools catch approximately 30–40% of accessibility violations, critically, the objective ones (missing labels, contrast ratios, target sizes) that are easy to fix and score highest with store reviewers.
Manual VoiceOver and TalkBack testing
Automated tools cannot evaluate whether the screen reader experience is comprehensible, only that labels exist. Our testers navigate your entire critical-path user journey using VoiceOver on iPhone and TalkBack on Android with eyes closed, documenting where the experience is confusing, where the reading order is wrong, and where interactive elements are unreachable without sighted assistance.
Contrast, sizing, and motion audit
We audit color contrast ratios in all states, default, focused, disabled, dark mode, high-contrast mode, against the 4.5:1 WCAG AA standard for normal text and 3:1 for large text. Touch targets are measured against minimum size requirements. Any animations and motion effects are tested under the prefers-reduced-motion setting.
Prioritised remediation report with code guidance
Every issue is classified by severity (blocker, critical, moderate, minor), WCAG success criterion, and effort to fix. For P1 and P2 issues, we provide platform-specific code-level remediation guidance, SwiftUI, UIKit, Jetpack Compose, or Flutter equivalents, so developers can resolve issues without accessibility interpretation overhead.
What you receive
Every engagement delivers a defined set of artefacts. No ambiguity about what you're buying.
Discuss scope| Deliverable | Description |
|---|---|
WCAG 2.2 AA conformance report | Full assessment against all applicable success criteria with pass/fail status, severity, and evidence screenshots. |
Screen reader journey map | Annotated flow diagram showing VoiceOver and TalkBack navigation paths, reading order, and gap locations. |
Contrast analysis report | Colour contrast ratios for all text/background combinations across light, dark, and high-contrast modes. |
Prioritised issue register | Every defect with WCAG criterion, severity, reproduction steps, and platform-specific code remediation guidance. |
Re-test cycle | Verification pass after developer remediation to confirm fixes and update conformance status. |

Accessibility Audits, questions your team asks first
Mobile accessibility testing verifies that users with disabilities, including visual, motor, cognitive, and auditory impairments, can use your app effectively with assistive technologies like screen readers, switch access, and voice control.
WCAG 2.2 AA applies to mobile web and is referenced in many legal frameworks for native apps. Key mobile criteria include 1.4.3 contrast ratios, 2.5.5 target size, 1.3.1 info and relationships, and 2.4.3 focus order.
Apple and Google both reject apps that fail basic VoiceOver/TalkBack navigation. Beyond rejection, accessibility issues appear in App Store reviews and drive 1-star ratings from users who cannot complete critical flows.
You receive a severity-ranked issue report with screenshots, device/OS context, WCAG success criterion citation, and specific code-level remediation guidance. We also provide a re-test cycle to verify fixes.
